Sinopsis :

Sekali lagi Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) harus berlaga dalam sebuah perlombaan untuk menentukan mobil tercepat di dunia. Balapan yang harus diselesaikan Lightning kali ini terdiri dari lima etape yang diselenggarakan di lima negara berbeda. Etape pertama adalah menuruni Gunung Fuji, dilanjutkan dengan balap di Jerman yang melewati Black Forest. Selanjutnya Lightning harus berangkat ke Italia dan dilanjutkan ke Perancis dan Inggris. Masing-masing etape ini punya tantangan tersendiri dan Lightning harus mampu mengatasinya.

Sayangnya, Mater yang seharusnya membantu Lightning malah terjebak dalam sebuah dilema. Di satu sisi Mater harus memastikan Lightning dalam kondisi terbaik agar bisa memenangkan semua etape dan keluar sebagai juara namun di sisi lain Mater juga terjebak dalam urusan spionase antar negara. Mater punya tugas rahasia yang harus ia selesaikan.

Para pendatang yang mencari perlindungan kemudian belajar beladiri sekaligus mendalami agama Budha di sana. Mendengar bahwa kuil Shaolin ini melindungi rakyat kecil, Hao Jie pun lantas mendatangi kuil ini dan menantang guru Shaolin untuk beradu kesaktian.

Hao Jie berhasil mengalahkan guru besar Shaolin dan ini membuatnya semakin sombong, sampai akhirnya Hao Jie merasakan pahitnya kekalahan akibat dikhianati. Dalam keadaan tak berdaya, tak ada tempat lain selain berlindung di kuil Shaolin, tempat yang dulu ia anggap sebagai musuh.
